    EVIAC Partner: EDF

Electricit* de France is France's main electric production and distribution company with an annual production in excess of 440 TWh. Approximately 1.8 % of the total budget is channelled into research. An ever increasing research effort is now going to the optimisation of energy usage and to reducing the impact on the environment. The electric vehicle is one of the many subjects explored to attain this end. EDF has always had a deep interest in electric vehicles. This effort has been considerably increased over the last six years and EDF now has a total of 900 electric vehicles in its fleet. It has been engaged in large scale programmes such as the La Rochelle programme and the installation of electric chargers in Paris. The development of automatic inductive chargers is an extra element which will contribute to this general mission.
